Autumn Update

As the children head back to school and the evenings draw in, we were lucky to squeeze in a fantastic Team day out. We shut the office for the day and walked down to the nearby seafront and took the opportunity to try our hand at Lawn Bowls. Not something we would usually partake in and possibly something we’d associate with the retired generation, but it really was good fun!

The skill involved was much trickier than we’d imagined and learning about the weights inside the bowls and the different ways to get them to curve was both fun and insightful. Colin won; he’d probably like me to clarify that. Great fun and as always, its fantastic to try something a bit different.

The weather and the views out to sea were fantastic on that day and we spontaneously decided to take a speed boat trip around the bay. Wow – We would highly recommend Rib Ride Torquay; our skipper Alan was both friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We spent an hour cruising the bay at high speeds, pausing to learn a little about the coves and history of our shoreline. What an experience, not for the fainthearted (My knuckles were white and my hair looked rather like a bird’s nest by the time we had finished) but we had a brilliant time!

Our Junior Mortgage administrator, Amy will soon be heading off travelling and we have been seeking a new team member to fill the role. Colin and Sarah have spent a few days interviewing potential candidates and it’s been a pleasure to meet such a varied and interesting group of individuals. We look forward to our second round of interviews and hope to be able to introduce our new colleague soon.

On Friday 4th October we would be delighted if you could join us at the office to raise money for Macmillan. As in previous years, the team will be putting on their aprons and will be baking a selection of tasty treats to raise funds for a wonderful cause. You are most welcome to pop in at any time between 10am-2pm for a Tea, Coffee or even just for cake! Colin will be on hand with an open door throughout the day, to provide any brief informal mortgage or insurance advice, whereas the girls will be on hand to put the kettle on and make you feel welcome.

Pop the date in your diary and please join us to make this fundraiser a success.
