Buying, selling and renting homes with the Government guidelines – October 2020

Following the Government’s announcement on 12th October, which introduced the three-tiered system, there have been questions raised about how this affects buying, selling and renting homes.

We understand that many of your clients may feel unsettled during this time, but the good news is that you can still move home if you’re in a high alert level area. Further guidance has now been issued and financial advisers, estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work, and people looking to move home can continue to undertake viewings.

Government advice to the industry

The Government’s advice to all businesses and professionals in the industry is to work together and to ensure they familiarise themselves with the relevant guidance and advice given by the Government and individual sector bodies.

All parties involved are encouraged to be as flexible as possible and to be prepared to delay moves if one of those involved becomes ill with COVID-19 during the moving process or has to self-isolate. It may become necessary to pause all home moves locally or nationally for a short period of time to manage the spread of coronavirus.

All of our suppliers on panel are still working hard to complete cases. They are managing the additional workloads whilst adhering to Covid secure guidelines. By safely working together we will give ourselves the best opportunity to ensure that each transaction runs as smoothly as possible.
